but that's how they chose to live, who are we to change it? that's all I'm getting at....if they have been living like this for hundreds of years and fail to adopt some common sense, then let them be. that's all I was saying before Juice-Monkey (aka Luka) took a shot of steroids and came on TCC to bash ppl b/c his boyfriend injected the needle in the wrong ass cheek.

Member # 45Location: GTA | it's not only backwards, it's repulsively stupid. who are we to judge them? we're those who are morally superior. that's who. let them be? don't forget these people who you say 'let them be' conduct business with us in north america. they import/export goods. they want to join the EU (which will never happen of course, but that's besides the point). they're also part of the same culture that this country is too weak to stand up to and say no to on immigration. the tolerant are slowly becoming intolerant to the intolerant. i only can hope it is in my lifetime. anyone who agrees with the behaviour of these animals should have never been allowed to immigrate. not opposing this behaviour is the same as tolerating it in my book. i do not post much as there is not much action here.. and i now have a full time job worth my time. i actually work instead of hang out.

| Peace out. Buju | Anyone who judges an entire religion over shit like this is the stupid one. When it comes to Muslims you're talking what? 1 billion people in the world? It's easy to pick on those who do bad deeds but it's funny how anything good that comes out of this world is ignored. |

Member # 229Location: Saskatoon | Im always amazed at the correlation between religion and education. It seems the more educated a society is the less religious. Atlhough im sure there are exceptions.... As for burying someone alive as punishment for talking, that is absolutely ridiculous. Regardless of your culture. If people have been doing that for hundreds of years its time for them to change their ways. The "punishment" should fit the "crime" i.e ground her for a few weeks. |

There was this guy, Adolf Hitler. He did a great number of things for a large number of people. He gave his country men an education, he turned a failing economy into a booming one. He instilled pride and purpose into the hearts of men, women, and children. Not every member of the Nazi was party was bad. He also caused a lot of people to do a lot of bad things. The amount of pain and suffering cause by those who follows the ideals of Hitler don't amount to much when comparing them to the pain and suffering cause by the followers of the abrahamic followers. Nazareth has been nothing but a cancer on Earth. The Catholic church is despicable. Not one priest who molested some kids. But the organization as a whole, the pope and his entourage protect the very same dirtbags. They believe in censorship. The current idiot doesn't believe in evolution. You have no idea how frustrating it is to live in a society where so many people believe in Santa Claus or his equivalent, and get upset when you don't respect their delusionally mental disability. --- I assure you, more than one Muslim wanted Salmon Rushdie killed. Not only individuals, but Islamic governments as a whole. I don't hate Islam, or Christianity. I pity the people who can't get out of their brainwashed state. I'm just happy I don't live in a country that I'm not ostracized for not at a very minimum pretending to have the same imaginary friend the rest of the community talks about. There is a shift coming. More and more people are getting more information, and asking the right questions. The church can no longer burn heretics at the stake, or drown the atheist women who questions a priest (obviously witches). We are growing. Whether you are on your deathbed with a smile thinking that all your life was a test by a sadistic asshole who wanted to see you fail just so you prey for mercy and forgiveness, or whether you enjoy you life for the possibly naturally occurring "miracle" that it is, really doesn't matter to me. Please, just don't follow the path of many religious people, and harm people who are spiritually more mature than you.

a person asks, where do frogs go when the pond freezes? the uneducated says "nature does it. god puts it here." whatever the educated knows they are cold bloodied and essentially hibernate in mud, under leaves, or under the ice. i could go on, but basically many people believe in god because they don't know any better.

| Peace out. Buju | ummm What Catholic does believe in evolution? We believe in creation? Meaning regardless of how the universe was created or how animals or humans evolved, none of it happened without the guidance of God. I'm sure you believe that everything was created randomly. And as I said, all you are doing is picking the bad apples out of the bunch by once again mentioning something like priests who molest boys. Last edited by shlammed; 02-09-2010 at 06:56 AM.. |

Member # 45Location: GTA | It's not the other way around. The current pope is more old school. The last guy was alright. I have not much against him compared to the current one. You didn't really address anything I said, but you did reply.. are you really on steroids man? Not good for your brain or testicles. Although you not having children isn't necessarily a bad thing. |

| Senior Member | The freemasons are a bunch of superstitious halfwits too AFAIK. Long story short, it's not Islam itself that is responsible for honour killings. There are plenty of other cultures that have the same symptoms. The underlying cause is that at the heart of it, people are filthy animals with major problems reconciling the world outside their head with what's going on inside of it. Religion, in general, attempts to reconcile these two worlds. Christianity teaches people to not get hung up on the real world and accept the bad things as a test of faith. Islam says that if 'everyone' were to submit to Allah, all the problems would go away. The definition of 'everyone' is up for debate within Islam. I just know that if some Islamofascist(a subset of Muslims) ever thinks that includes me, they're going to find out just how ineffective their attempts at political/religious violence were. But back to honour killings. They happen in situations where: 1) Women have a reduced value 2) Men have so little else going on that they obsess about their family's honour 3) There's some narrative that emphasizes honour/chastity over life Once those are in place, it all of a sudden becomes internally justifiable to kill your daughter so that your neighbour doesn't tease you about her being promiscuous. Those of us who are happily engaged in the real world and don't need some religious crutch to cope with our lives have a responsibility to those who are still ignorant not to accept what we know is abhorrent. The test is this: If you were there, would your ever so enlightened cultural relativism allow you to be present at this cultural phenomenon without having to stop it? So, if your Italian friends start eating tripe, you might make a face. If your Chinese friends are eating shark fin soup, you might mention that the practice is ruining ecosystems (and that chicken stock is an infinitely more interesting taste). If your African friend shows you how to draw blood from a cow for nourishment, you might feel a twinge of empathy when it gets stuck. When your South American friend wants to scarify their son for some initiation, you'd probably check to see that they were willing participants. When your Indian friend straps a live monkey to the table and prepares to open its head, you'd probably walk out of the room. When your Turkish friend dumps his daughter in a hole and starts piling dirt on top of her, I think you're totally justified in grabbing the shovel and beating his head in before sending the daughter to a convent for shelter and education. |
