The TCC Discussion Forums are the building block of our online community and web presence. In fact, our very first forum was a Club page on the Yahoo! Groups Network started way back in late May of 2001, from which TCC's website blossomed.

Our forum is a robust community open to the general public(Registration is free) with people from all over Toronto - Canada - and the world. Need tech info on your engine? Want to know where you can buy a particular part? or maybe you just want to chat? Well, this is the place to ask/talk with other Civic owners and auto enthusiasts.

Forum Registration - registration requires a valid email address. Once you've registered a confirmation link is sent to your email. You'll need to click on this link to complete registration. ***NOTE: for those using free email clients (yahoo, hotmail, etc.) you may receive an error message when clicking on the confirmation link. Ignore this message, your account should be activated. Simply login to the forums. If it doesn't work then submit a support request .

Here are several quick rules to get you on your way to posting on TCC Forums:

1) No spamming whatsoever. If you own a business (any kind of business) you need to obtain permission from TCC Administration before you can post. There are no exceptions.
2) No inappropriate content eg. explicit nudity
3) Post new threads in the right forum. We have many forums, all neatly categorized. Just because Chit-Chat has over 30,000 posts does not mean you can post anything you want in there. Club Support is for club related matters only, not for technical questions about your car, use an appropriate Technical Forum for these types of questions. Proper organization ensures that all info can be easily accessed in the future via the search function.
4) Your post count is meaningless. Posting meaningless stuff to increase your count is only a waste of bandwidth.
5) Read the various "stickies" and "Please Read:" threads which contain important info and forum/chat policies.
6) Be friendly. You'll find that if you treat others with respect they will do the same in return.

Why are there so many forums?
Having different sub forums allows for some organization on the site. For example, if you have a specific question about your stereo, by posting it in the audio forum, you can be sure it will be answered quickly and correctly.

What are forum Moderators?
Moderators are your friends. Think of them as the crossing guards of our community. They are there to assist you and they are also there to make sure that everything runs smoothly. Each forum moderator is responsible for: Editing/deleting messages, moving topics to proper forums, posting replies whenever possible, and promoting forum discussion.

How do I get a Custom Avatar/User Title?
Custom Avatar: minimum total post count required 50. Custom user titles: minimum total post count required 200. Custom avatars can be uploaded through the "User Cp" area of the forums.

How can I post a picture? Can I upload one from my computer?
To include a picture or graphic within the body of your message, you can simply surround the address of the image as shown here:
[img]http://www.torontocivics.com/tcforums/lineup11.jpg[/img]
Note that the http:// part of the image URL is required for the [img] code, and also do not put spaces anywhere between the [img] tags.

If you are a paid member, you have the option to upload pictures from your hard drive. To do so, use the following:
When creating a new thread or replying, there is a feature at the bottom called "Attach file". To use this feature, click on browse and locate the file on your hard drive. This will then embed your file into you post.
* Anyone who abuses this feature, or uses it to post vulgar or obscene content will have their File Attachments disabled. Forum Administrators can disable this feature individually for each user.

Where can I get more vB code?
vB Code

What is the (PM) private message system?
Private messages work a little like email, but are limited to registered members of this board. You may be able to include vB Code, smilies and images in private messages that you send. You may send a private message to a member of this board by clicking the 'Send A Private Message ' link in the private messaging section of your user control panel, or by clicking the PM button in a member's posts. When you send a message, you have the option to save a copy of the message in your Sent Items folder. You will need to periodically delete old messages (both Inbox and Sent Items folders). If you exceed the number of messages specified by the Forum Administrator (currently 150), you will not be able to send or receive new messages until you delete some old messages.

How do I report a thread that is improper or offensive?
If you feel that a post is inappropriate or is in violation of club/forum rules, use the "report this post to a moderator" function located at the bottom of EVERY post (you'll need to be registered on the forum). By using this button, the moderator(s) of that particular forum will receive an email telling them of the post, where it will be up to them to decide if it is acceptable or not.

I want to start a group buy on the forum, where do I go from here?
Members are to email groupbuys@torontocivics.com (or PM ryuujin on the forum) if they read about ideas of a GB they think the rest of the club will benefit from. If approved, the GB will be posted to the GB/Sales sub-forum. Any member posting any unauthorized GBs, whether they are the organizer or not, will be banned without hesitation.

DISCLAIMER: Anyone who participates in a non-TCC organized GB (i.e. a non approved GB) that is posted within our forums cannot hold TCC responsible for problems that may be encountered.

I have been banned from the forum, what does this mean? is reinstatement possible?
TCC Forum Admins will, without hesitation, ban forum members (paid or otherwise) who don't follow the rules of the forum. Banishment could be temporary or permanent, depending on severity. Banned members have posting privaldges removed, and user cp access restricted (no PM's). Access to TCC Chat will also be disabled.

Various rules are in place to ensure a forum atmosphere that will promote community growth both on the forums and within the club outside of the forum. To date, most users have been banned because they have posted "For Sale" items or "Group Buys" either as a business or on behalf of a business (any type of business) wihtout pre-approval from TCC Admin. In the best interests of our sponsors, affiliates, and trusted vendors - who help fund TCC's website, events, and operating costs - we have to crack down on these posts. No if, ands, or buts! If you are not sure whether a certain post is acceptable, ask an Admin before posting it.

Once a user is banned, he/she automatically gains access to our special "Banned Members" forum. We realize in certain situations where a grey area exists, or some misunderstanding/miscommunication may have occurred, permanent banishment wouldn't be fair. Banned users can use this special forum to explain yourself. It will then be up to the Admin Staff to decide whether you'll be reinstated or not.

Additional Info
Posting on TCC Forums is a privaledge, not a RIGHT. Non-paid members of the forum are considered guests. Please read all rules carefully. Should you require help you may post a support request in the "Club Support" forum.
